First Personality Pages Published

This encyclopedia will not only feature information about the battles of 1861, but also the personalities who fought them. Quality images of many of these individuals are hard to come by, since some died early in the war and others had lackluster military careers and were overlooked. So I’ve commissioned unique illustrations for each profile. Since the focus of this online encyclopedia is 1861, particularly prior to the Battle of First Manassas, each personality page will focus on the individual’s pre-war life and their activities in the spring and summer of 1861. There will be a list of primary sources from that individual; letters, telegrams, and reports. So far, I’ve created 15 profiles, which for now, are bare bones until I can add more detailed information.
